Synopsis:
He never noticed her before, but now she’s all he can see…
Miles Carlisle is every teen girl’s fantasy. His rugged good looks and exotic British accent have helped catapult his boy band, Seconds to Juliet, to super-stardom. But after two disastrous and very public breakups, Miles isn’t interested in dating just any girl; he wants The One. And the only girl he’s interested in is not only his best friend’s little sister―and off-limits―but won’t even give him the time of day…
As a kid, Aimee Bingham had a huge thing for Miles…until he made fun of her for always tagging along. Now that she’s outgrown both him and her pigtails. the prospect of spending two weeks on tour with the childhood crush who broke her heart isn’t exactly enticing. Except now Miles seems interested. Very interested. And no matter how hard Aimee tries to resist him, her crush is definitely making a comeback.
But everyone knows that falling for a heartthrob is a backstage pass to heartbreak…

When did you start writing?
I
started seriously writing while in grad school, but I’ve always been a
storyteller, mostly stories with a whole lot of kissing :)
What makes you want to write?
I guess
when I discovered that I was more overly-creative than my friends, and once I
worked on my discipline to sit down and write, it all came together. Now I
can’t imagine not having a writing project constantly.
Do you ever get writer's block
and what do you do to get over it?
I do.
But it’s usually when I’m on deadline, so there’s nothing I can do but push
through. Chocolate helps, too. And I have lots of playlist to lend inspiration.
My playlist for Aimee and the Heartthrob is probably my favorite!
Do you have a special way of
going about writing?
Not
really. I used to have to have a clean house and empty inbox, but that became
kind of unrealistic and more of an excuse to NOT write. Now I just sit down and
write from beginning to end. That’s always been my process.
Do you have any works in
progress?
I do!
I’m starting on my newest Bliss book. It’s an adult, sweet romance that takes
place in Hershey, PA. I just took a “research” trip there and fell in love!
Perfect setting for a kissing book. And the plot pretty much revolves around
chocolate, so….
What are your hobbies?
I love
to go running and hang out with my friends. Also, binging on Netflix has become
a kind of obsession. I watch a least one show a night. Hey, that’s research,
right?
How did you choose the character
names for Aimee and the Heartthrob?
I knew
Miles would be the name of my hot boyband pop star. I just love that name!
Aimee was first called Amy, but one of my best friends in college spelled her
name Aimee, so I wanted to give a little wink to her.
Who is your favourite character
in Aimee and the Heartthrob?
Miles,
for sure! I gave him stunning blue eyes, crazy blond boyband hair and a British
accent. I mean, what’s not to love?
How did you get the idea for
Aimee and the Heartthrob?
The idea
of the Backstage Pass series was already in place, but I’d heard about it and
was sooooo jealous. Luckily for me, one of the authors had to drop out due to
other writing commitments, so I swooped in, and it’s been the most amazing
experience. Not only was it my first teen book, but writing about a boyband is
so up my alley!
What was your favourite part of
writing Aimee and the Heartthrob?
I’ve
always said that I love pitting characters against each other, and having them
fight and yell at each other so much that they finally HAVE to kiss. The first
kiss between Miles and Aimee wasn’t an angry kiss, but there was definitely
bigtime mega-chemistry between the two, that Miles even admitted that if he
couldn’t kiss her that his head would explode.
What are you currently reading?
I
usually have more than one book going at a time, but right now, it’s only one,
and it’s so fun. It’s called “As You Wish—the Inconceivable story being the making
of The Princess Bride.” It was written by the actor who played Westly/The Man
in Black, and it’s absolutely delicious!
What is your favourite book?
I’m a classic
lit nerd, and Pride and Prejudice has been my favorite since I was a teenager.
Who is your favourite author?
Again,
Jane Austen rules the world, in my opinion!
What is your favourite film?
These
questions are getting hard! J I could watch Breakfast at Tiffanys, Clueless
and 10 Things I Hate About You nonstop.
What is your favourite TV show?
Vampire
Diaries and Dawson’s Creek.
Quick-fire questions:
Chocolate or ice cream? Chocolate!
Paperback or ebook? Paperback
Dogs or cats? DOGS!
Go out or stay in? Staying in
Summer or winter? Summer

Once she was fully educated, she decided to settle in Florida, but her car broke down in Texas and she’s lived in Dallas ever since. A cupcake and treadmill aficionado (obviously those things are connected), she spends her time watching arthouse movies and impossibly trashy TV, while living vicariously through the characters in the books she writes. Ophelia is the author of SOMEDAY MAYBE; DEFINITELY, MAYBE IN LOVE; ABBY ROAD and CROSSING ABBY ROAD; the Perfect Kisses series including: FALLING FOR HER SOLDIER, PLAYING AT LOVE, SPEAKING OF LOVE, and MAKING WAVES; the upcoming AIMEE AND THE HEARTTHROB for Entangled’s Teen Crush line, and the upcoming Sugar City series for Entangled’s Bliss line.
