When Andi and her crew find themselves at the hands of a bounty hunter who is linked to Andi's past, they are given a job offer.

Can the crew of the Marauder complete the job?

First off I want to say how excited I was for Zenith. I queued for ages at YALC but missed out on a copy. So I was very happy when my NetGalley request was accepted.

From the very beginning, I had trouble connecting with the writing style and the story. The plot was okay, but I lost interest several times and, in the end, I couldn't bring myself to read any more of the book.

The characters were average. I'm not left with any particularly strong feelings about any of them.

Every time I saw 'Bloody Baroness', I thought of the Bloody Baron in the Harry Potter books. The name of Andi's ship (the Marauder) also made me think of the HP books (the Marauder's Map).

For quite a long time I actually read 'Androma' as 'Andromeda'. Oops.

I liked that the Marauder had an all-female crew.

I might try to read this again in the future.

Overall this was a disappointing read.

Books I'm Taking Off My Favourites Shelf

 

 I recently gave my Favourites shelf on Goodreads a sort out. 

I removed several books because I knew that if I read them again, that I wouldn't enjoy them as much as I did the first time.

These were the books:

Rebel Wing (Rebel Wing, #1) by Tracy Banghart

 I have actually read Rebel Wing twice and I didn't enjoy it as much the second time. I still liked it but no where near as much as the first time.

The Hush, Hush series by Becca Fitzpatrick

 I've only read this series once and I really enjoyed it.

But, I know that if read it again that I won't enjoy it half as much.

So off my Favourites shelf they go *waves sadly*

 The Mad World series by Christine Zolendz

These are definitely guilty pleasures and I'm 100% sure that if I read them again I'll wonder why on Earth I liked them so much the first time.

Cover Love (Why you love the cover)

I hired the same artist who made the cover to Understanding the Stars to create the cover for Girl Vs. I absolutely love her ability to capture my characters and show so much of their personality in just one picture. There is some subtle imagery in the story of the red blood of humanity vs the blue blood of the aliens, which is why a red cover was chosen. The girl looks exactly how I imagine Rhyan. Having her on a motorcycle was the perfect touch to show her fearlessness, and I love the broken city in the background.

The Ghostwriter was my first Alessandra Torre book and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it.

Helena was a prickly character but I liked her anyway. She had a difficult relationship with her mother and it was easy to see why Helena turned out the way she did. I also liked Mark and Kate a lot.

The plot was interesting and held my attention. I was really intrigued as to what had happened in Helena's past and what happened to Simon.

The writing style was engaging and easy to follow.

I liked the mystery aspect of the book and was glad that romance wasn't a big theme.

Overall this was an enjoyable read that I would recommend.
