The Cast
Iron club is a safe haven for hemopaths - people who can, among other things,
create illusions and manipulate emotions. Corinne and Ada are two hemopaths
that call the Cast Iron home.
Things
start spiralling out of control when Ada is imprisoned after a job goes wrong
and members of the club start disappearing - including the owner, Johnny.
Can Ada
and Corinne evade the law?
What
happened to Johnny?
The Iron
Cast was an intriguing read.
Set in
1919, it was interesting to read about the possibility of prohibition and the
way Ada was treated because she was black.
I loved
Ada and Corrine's friendship. They were really close and it was nice to see
them support each other. They were my favourite characters apart from Gabriel
who stole my heart from the start.
The plot
was good and held my attention. I was gripped and enjoyed the writing style.
The idea
of hemopaths was really interesting and I liked that the powers were all
connected to different arts.
Overall
this was an interesting, unique read that I enjoyed and would recommend.
