True love can’t be strategized.

After book blogger Vivian Galdi’s longtime crush pretends their secret summer kissing sessions never happened, Vivian creates a list of safe crushes, determined to protect her heart.

But nerd-hot Dallas, the sweet new guy in town, sends the mission and Vivian’s zing meter into chaos. While designing software for the bookstore where Vivian works, Dallas wages a counter-mission.

A Day in the Life of Lisa Brown Roberts

My author life is very glamorous- not! I get up very early so that I can write for two hours before going to my day job, usually between 4:30 and 5:00 a.m. My cats and dog are always happy because that means it’s food time for them. While the coffee brews, I scan news and social media online, but try not to get too distracted.

I write for two hours before heading into work. I used to take my son to school on the way but he’s driving now, so it’s just me and Audible driving during rush hour. I love listening to books while I drive – usually YA novels, adult romantic comedies, or cozy mysteries.

During the day I’m focused on my job, but during my lunch break I write. If I’m in the middle of writing a first draft, that’s what I work on, otherwise I might work on promo items like this blog post, or write up notes and brief outlines of new book ideas. I also try to catch up on social media at lunch- Twitter,  Facebook, and Instagram.

After work I enjoy dinner with my family. I don’t like to cook, but my son does, so sometimes he cooks, sometimes we order in, or sometimes I force myself to cook J. I love family dinner time because it gives us time to laugh and catch up with each other.

Evenings I’m either binge-watching shows with my husband, or if I have a looming deadline I go back to writing or working on edits from my editor. Somewhere in there I usually reward myself with dark chocolate because I need motivation.

Then I read before falling asleep and start all over again the next day.

See? Totally glamorous, right?

About the Author

Lisa Brown Roberts still hasn't recovered from the teenage trauma of nearly tweezing off both eyebrows and having to pencil them in for an entire school year. This and other angst-filled memories inspire her to write YA books about navigating life's painful and funny dramas, and falling in love along the way.

Her almost forever home is Colorado, though she occasionally pines for the days when she lived within walking distance of the Pacific Ocean. Her house is full of books, boys, four-legged prima donnas, and lots of laughter.
