Can the
best thing happen at the worst time?
Her dad went crazy. Her mom left town. She has bills to pay and a little sister to look after. Now is not the time for level-headed seventeen-year-old Lucille to fall in love. But love—messy, inconvenient love—is what she's about to experience when she falls for Digby Jones, her best friend's brother. With blazing longing that builds to a fever pitch, Estelle Laure's soulful debut will keep readers hooked and hoping until the very last page.

Seventeen-year-old
Lucille's life is complicated.
Her dad
had a breakdown and went to prison. Her mum went away on holiday but hasn't
come back. She has a younger sister, Wren, to look after and bills to pay.
Lucille has also fallen in love with her best friend's brother, Digby.
Will
their mother come back?
Can
Lucille keep anyone from finding out about her mum?
Will
anything happen between Lucille and Digby?
This
Raging Light was a mixed read for me.
I didn't
connect with Lucille and didn't find her to be very likeable - she was
ungrateful to Eden and Digby when they helped her look after Wren - but I did feel
sorry for her. I did like that Lucille wasn't perfect and that she was a strong
person.
The plot
was okay but I wasn't gripped and lost interest in a few places.
I wasn't
a fan of the romance and didn't really feel the connection between Lucille and
Digby.
Overall
this was an okay read.
